Thanks, this is great! I've used the official one several times and I've always been annoyed by its little quirks (weird tab order, almost-unusably-short attack spaces, etc.)
It's those very bugs that annoyed me into fixing it! 😉
I read editable as edible and got pretty excited
Makes character death a little bit less upsetting.
You could always print it on rice paper with food safe ink.
I posted an editable sheet once and someone commented the exact same thing there too!
I read it the same way, and came in to find your comment.
o good, it wasn't only me.
Edible, Savory PDF.
I’m renaming this project to TheWebCoder’s Edible Sheet 🍽🐉
Printing method is up to you
Go for it
I'm ... confused. You can already type in the fields and save the official one you download from Wizards of the Coast. I do it all the time.
OP does list some changes in the post... I don't think it's intended to be hugely different from the default one, just cleaned up a little.
I think that one can generate spells for caster characters
Tried it out in the Foxit PDF reader and it looks like it works without issue. Thanks for putting this together!
This is good news, I'll have to check it out on Linux.
New Version v1.6:
The font size scaling doesn't seem to work for me on a Mac. In Adobe Acrobat they are all large and in Preview the small fields are small until I tab out of the field and then become large again.
It won't work in Preview, but it does work in Acrobat Reader. Example:
Have you seen MPMB's sheet?
Much appreciated OP
Is there a way to make it autofill some fields? Like modifiers based on attributes? And to take proficies into consideration etc?
Not with this version. Other folks have made auto-calculation sheets though, if you poke around.
Is it possible to make everything editible? I'd like to make one for German players as well
Alas, you would need to modify the labels in the source file to support other languages
Thanks for this- I'm just getting into D&D, and this form is much easier to comprehend than I thought it would be
Awesome, glad it's been helpful.
I was so hoping you'd done the alternative format one, but no such luck. It has some of the stupidest bugs, bit I love it so much!
I’ve had a few requests for this. Just need to find some free time ... ⚔️
I'm not intending to steal your thunder, but there is a similar project which also does auto-calculations and text. See
Oh there's a sub? Thanks for that. I'm still waiting on MPMB to support Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Edit: I see the fuckery is WotC's fault. Nevermind!
It's all good; there's many, many sheets out there. My goal with this one was simply to improve on the original for those who prefer it.
Can't look at it because I'm on mobile now but did you give the fields sensible names? It helps when auto filling the pdf. The original one just had random numbers as field names if i recall correctly
Yes and fixed the tab order.
Does anyone know of a PDF reader on Linux that is fully Adobe compatible? I'd love to use this, but Adobe reader only is a deal breaker for me.
Some else mentioned "Foxit PDF" works. Is that Linux?
I'll be testing it on a couple readers on Linux in a bit.
for some reason I read "Editable" as "Edible..."
This is good, but i think i still prefer my Neceros style 5e sheet.
The text size for the saving throws, proficiencies, total hit dice, and spell name boxes is unreadably small.
Yup, see the next version notes in the OP. Thanks for the feedback.
I'm a bot, bleep, bloop. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:
Thank you, much appreciated!
Is there a version with two spell sheets? Most free PDF editors don't let you duplicate sheets, and I like to track the spells from separate classes separately (as well as Warlock spell slots).
You could make two files, and just use the spells on the second one? Not ideal, but an ok workaround. If you print, just do pg. 3 of the second sheet, etc.
Can you make a page that is a large box for Features and Traits with your text formatting?
Q: What do you consider to be the best way to add in Racial Bonuses, Proficiency Bonuses (expertise, etc) and Magical Item bonuses?
Hello! So, I think the second page of spells is a good idea. But I unfortunately can't access the sheet, saying that the page isn't found. I'm not sure if this is just an issue with me, so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. If so, it would be greatly appreciated if it were to be fixed. Thanks!
Does anyone know of a character sheet that has extra pages for spells? Playing a wizard whose goal is to fill his book with spells, but there isn't enough room on one sheet to put the spells I know.
Thank you for version 1.6! I really appreciate the tweaks, and it made my day. Thank you!
You're welcome man. Happy gaming!
I originally read the title as ... 'Edible, Saveable'... and wondered why you'd want to do that. I was still half asleep I guess. Looks good thou.
You have a good point. I never thought about it from that angle before.
Read the title as edible.
You know that Reddit has a "save" option, right?
